How To Install Banished Mods
Yes, the mods work fine. When you install new mods best to start a fresh game and on the screen that comes up before you actually pick the parameters for a new game, click on Mods and set the mods in the order you want them to play - following the rule that the top ones take priority over the ones placed lower down, and following the recommended order if playing with a megamod. Click OK when you are happy and then begin a new game. In-game, visit the mods panel again by clicking Esc, and make sure everything is still as you just organised ( it should be) and then click 'cancel' and return to playing the game. When you come out of that game, if you still get a crash than that might be because there is a particular mod conflict, so then you might find it useful to inspect the conflict list of any stand-alone 'red' mods to determine which one might be the cause and disable that mod to see if that fixes the issue - the Megamods are red anyway so ignore them. Any mods you put above the megamod will likely be red as well, but that does not always cause a crash. Once you have the mod order sorted and stable and always observe the need to start a new game when putting major mods on, and reorder the mods list before you go in, you should not have anymore of the problems you describe.
I was in exactly the same place as you a few months back and Vrayna set me right, and I have not had any problems since. The North mod was created by Tom Sawyer. I've never used his mod however many people love what he's done. (BTW: There is no 'official' Banished mods website - there are just websites that offer Banished mods.) That said, you download it like any other mod that isn't in the Workshop (Workshop mods are simply 'subscribed to'.)Download the mod. If it is really large, you will probably get a message that your antivirus can't check the file for viruses because it is too big. Download it anyway if you trust the source. The file may be a.zip or.rar file depending on the size - if so, extract the.pkm file using something like 7-Zip which is free on-line.
Move the.pkm file to your Banished WinData file. (Mine is at Local Disk (C:) Program Files (x86) Steam steamapps common Banished WinData.).Then start Banished. Go into Mods and check The North and uncheck all other mods.
How To Install Mods On Banished
Exit Banished completely (helps prevent crashes), then go back in and start a new game.A lot of mods don't work with The North. However, I'm pretty sure several of those by Discrepancy will. You can check with Tom Sawyer at his website, if in doubt. Load order for mods are important too.
Banished Mega Mod
I haven't downloaded the latest versions for CC as I haven't played much lately. However, in order for compatible mods to work with CC Journey 1.71 and Mega mod versions with additional mods, an example of the loading order is necessary as follows:- More Stone per Rock- More Iron per Ore Lump- Iron is Iron- Rocks Respawn- More Wood per Tree- D20 Medieval Houses- 10.7 Compatibility V.2 - Compatibility Mod for Mega Mod 0.07- CC 1.71 Journey- Mega Mod 0.06- Mega Mod Deco Pack 0.07Above is an example of enabled load orders.
You will still get 'red' backgrounds with the load order, but it works. I have no trouble using both CC and Mega mod with the above order of mod listings. I will try to check out the latest versions of CC and Mega mod to see if load orders have changed. But the above works without issues for me with all the perks. The CC, Mega Mods, and D20 Medieval houses were downloaded from the Black Liquid website.
