Yu Gi Oh Vampire Lord
Finally!I get to review the card I’ve been waiting forsince I first saw NickWhiz1 raving about it.Vampire Lord is one sick card. It gives totalcontrol by reducing the number of a certain typeof card from your opponent’s deck and just keepson coming back when it’s destroyed outside ofbattle. It’s best use, IMO, is helping set upthe Yata Lock. Keep selecting monster as the typeof card to remove from play and they will bewithout a load of monsters.
The downside with thisis they could dump a creature they can revive,like Jinzo. Let’s take a look @ this combolicious cardPros:+Get rid of say, traps, quickly and not have to fear them for the rest of the game+Book of Life = special recursion just for him+As long as he doesn’t die in battle, always comes back for more pwnage.+He just looks sick. You should get this card only for that reason.Cons:-Expensive, secret rare-He hates D.D.
Warrior Girl, Kycoo, Soul Release I guess, cards like that.Combos:.Book of Life was made for this card. Not really a combo, but br0ken nonetheless.Pyramid turtle. Okay so creature swapping tomatoes used to be the thing. Wow, you got a Don Zaloog out of the venture. But now you can swap over a turtle and instead grab a V-Lord. I’d say so.Let’s just say, vampire lord decks are looking GOOD for the current metagame. Multiple V-Lords, for the moment, is like cheating.
There aren’t enough decent cards that remove graveyard mons to get rid of him for good. And that’s a mistake, given the access to SIX recursion cards, including reborn, burial, call, and THREE book of life. That makes up to 9 V-Lords in the deck at this time. And with the effect that can be played around (Waboku so he never dies in battle) and an effect that totally murders as the game continues (as the deck thins, so do the number of types of cards, including traps). Oh, and just to mention, the faster V-Lord deck wins. I mean, book of life to return YOUR v-lord back into play and at the SAME time removing your opponent’s from the game. ////I’ve heard stories from my friends that Gencon was pwned by pyramid turtle/giant rat/vampire lord decks, the fastest ways to get him out.
So I’d say the best counter you can have against these decks are main boarding at LEAST 2 D.D. Warrior Girls, or just succumb to the pressure and run him in your deck as well.Basically, only time will tell how to play with/against Vampire Lord, but this card is definitely game breaking, as well as metagame-defining. And oh yea, play him.BTW, in limited, this guy is actually SLOWER and since you end up dying in battle this has got to be the only card that’s like not as effective in limited. Oh well, if you draft him, etc, just quit the draft and go play in a standard tournament. Fools My Vampire Lord was from DL 4, and is a lotrarer than the Kaiba Structure counterpart. For a while I played it in myfifty card deck, until I took it out in order to trim my deck down to fortycards.Vampire Lord is such an abusive card. Some seem to have the misconceptionthat card effects cannot destroy this card. If this monster isfissured, it’s gone for the turn, and when it is your standby phase, itcomes back. But if the opponent manages to remove this monster, it doesn’tcome back. Now, its other effect to destroy your opponent’s deck internallyis pretty decent When I use this effect, I will always choose trap.
Thatway, you can have genocide on traps, leaving none of them for you to worryabout. But no matter what, if you use this effect, never choose monsters.Because they’ll just dump something that they can reborn.The only bad thing about this card is that it is a tribute monster. And itonly has 2000 attack. But a demon’s axe can fix all of that. Well, I’m offto pack my bags, and going half way around the world.
